Way back in 1992, when I was just 18 years old, I hypnotised someone for the very first time. I gave my subject, Mark, some simple suggestions... which he readily followed.
I thought he was faking it. But he wasn't.... This is what happened...
I told Mark that he was getting getting colder and colder. Mark immediately began to shiver, he frantically hugged himself in a desperate attempt to keep warm. But my suggestion was too powerful. Within seconds, all of the tiny hairs on his arms stood on end and he got goose bumps!!! I was stunned... You can't fake goose bumps!!! He was having a full-on physiological response to my suggestion. This was amazing! But I still didn't 100% believe it.... As a test... I told him that all of the cold was going away and that he was now getting hotter and hotter with every passing second. The tiny hairs instantly lay back down, the goosebumps vanished and he stopped shivering. As the seconds ticked away he started pulling at his T-shirt, gasping to catch his breath. His face reddened and then I noticed something amazing... he actually started to sweat! This was all of the confirmation I need. The temperature of the room hadn't changed. The only thing that had changed was my suggestion. Mark was experiencing a reality that only existed in his mind. A reality that only existing because I'd suggested it. |
That day changed my life forever. That was the day that I finally realized that hypnosis is real and, most importantly, that I could do it!
In fact... ANYONE can do it! I didn't do anything magical or mystical to Mark, I didn't use any kind of psychic power and he most certainly wasn't faking it. All I did was talk to him. And that's why I'm now able to make you this promise...
